Care software / Supported living
Supported living
Software that respects the difference between a tenancy and a care home.
Person-centred support plans, capacity and consent, outcomes, staff training and the evidence that shows support is enabling independence rather than managing it away.

Why the residential model does not transfer
In supported living the person has a tenancy. It is their home, and support is something delivered into it. Nearly every off-the-shelf product assumes the opposite: that the organisation owns the setting and the person is placed in it.
That assumption leaks everywhere. Records get structured around the building rather than the person. Consent gets treated as a formality rather than a live question. Restrictions get logged without the legal basis that makes them lawful.
What good evidence looks like here
That support is planned around what the person wants to achieve, that capacity and consent are properly recorded and revisited, that any restriction has a documented legal basis, and that outcomes are actually tracked rather than asserted. Those are the things that separate a service that enables independence from one that merely says it does.
What gets built
The parts that matter for this kind of service
Person-centred support plans
Plans organised around the person and their goals, with reviews that chase themselves.
Capacity and consent
Decision-specific capacity records and consent, revisited rather than captured once and forgotten.
Restrictions and legal basis
Any restrictive practice recorded with its authority and review date attached, so the basis is never missing.
Outcomes tracking
Progress against what the person wanted, evidenced over time instead of described in a summary.
Staff training and supervision
Competency, training expiry and supervision tracked per member of staff, flagged before anything lapses.
Incidents and safeguarding
Concerns logged with actions, notifications and outcomes as one linked record.

Questions
Questions from supported living providers
Are you regulated by CQC in supported living?
It depends on whether personal care is being provided as a regulated activity. Plenty of supported living providers are registered and plenty are not, and the software should reflect which you are rather than assuming.
Can it cover several properties?
Yes, with records organised by person and viewable by property, which is the right way round for supported living.
We also run domiciliary care. Can one system do both?
Usually yes, and it is often the better answer, because staff and training records overlap heavily. See the domiciliary care page.

Every service is shaped slightly differently. Describe yours and I will tell you honestly what is worth building and what is not.
